Literacy Waitakere provide free specialist tuition in reading, spelling, maths, speaking, and basic computer skills. Literacy can help school leavers who are 16+ and without qualifications in everyday tasks, such as: reading school notices, reading books to children, filling in forms, understanding medication labels, bills, banking, shopping etc, and guide learners towards a pathway for further training and employment.
They also provide workplace literacy and support to apprentices and preliterate mother-tongue support.
