Grow does not provide professional counselling services but they do provide mutual help from people who have experienced some mental health episode in their life and have found the Grow programe to be incredibly useful and inexpensive. Group Organisers have been trained from within the organisation. The Blue Book is a resource booklet full of wisdoms and educational solutions which have worked for thousands of people since Grow groups originated over 60 years ago. The booklet has been continually revised.

Home and Family Counselling, an established and well-respected not-for-profit agency, provides short-medium term counselling for all Aucklanders. They offer affordable face to face counselling sessions for a wide range of issues/ challenges and are sensitive to culture, ethnicity, gender and age. Payment is by voluntary contributions (on a sliding scale according to income). Kindred Family Services offer practical solutions to enhance safety and wellbeing for the people of west Rodney and South Kaipara. NZ Defence Force 'NZDF' Wellbeing Support Phone Line

All members of NZDF and the Defence community can contact 0800 NZDF4U or text 8881 for 24/7 confidential support which includes both telephone and face-to-face support. This includes Regular Force, Civilians, Reserve Force, families and veterans. You can call about any issue you want help with - this can include anything from general stress, depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, financial worries, to post-deployment problems or transitioning out of NZDF. A health professional (external to NZDF) will help direct you towards the best support for you. If it’s an emergency, please dial 111.

St John Caring Caller Programme

Overview
Caring Caller is a free telephone friendship service that St John provides for people who live alone or feel a bit lonely. Volunteers phone clients regularly to check that everything is ok. St John’s free Caring Caller service connects people who need a friend with people who have time to listen and chat. While it’s not a helpline in any way, a Caring Caller can also notify the right people – St John – if their chat friend isn’t well or doesn’t answer.
