This is a 'Total Immersion te Reo Maori' school - where the spoken and written language and the language of instruction is 'Te Reo Maori'. Years 0 - 14 catering for children aged 5 years to 19 years. This Kura was the first 'Kura Kaupapa Maori' established in the world - opened in 1985. New entrants must speak te reo Maori to gain entry.
